Lemonade Stands and Street Dances

I remember thinking of ways to make money by the time I was eight years old. I didn’t come from a family where we lacked the basic necessities but somehow American ideologies instilled this interest in my left-prone brain. I wasn’t a creative genius so I came up with ideas like the classic lemonade stand (which I saw more as a business endeavor than a fun way to get together with kids in your neighborhood to drink sugary beverages) and strategizing ways to choreograph and perform street dances with my friends, where people would pay us a bunch of money to watch us prance around in neon spandex to Janet Jackson. The plan was perfect. We were going to perform in churches and other places we were familiar with that people might want to pay good money to see school girls dancing with no professional training. I also had aspirations of designing greeting cards that I would sell in mass quantities to Target and Wal-mart. My mom had one look at my “portfolio” and said I was a shoe-in. She also offered to give me a lift whenever I felt prepared to make a deal.

Although these dreams didn’t come to fruition in the way I may have imagined at the time, I had fun. And since then I have discovered several small ways to save money and live more efficiently without sacrificing quality of life or bothering your close friends and family about purchasing a new set of cutlery. Many ideas you may have heard of before but even if I mention a couple new concepts that you find could be easily implemented in your daily life I consider that a successful share. Take that crumbling economy!
